                            Parish Pastoral Council

The task of the PPC is to assist the Parish Priest in his duties, both pastoral and other, in running the Parish.  The emphasis was originally more associated with the pastoral aspects, however due to the workload on the Priest the duties of the PPC are covering a wider field.  The Parish as such now no longer exists but is a part of a Larger Pastoral Area (LPA).  With the possibility of the number of Priests within our LPA reducing in the future, our Church may not be allocated a specific Priest.  It therefore follows that for our Church, the Sacred Heart in Waterlooville, the PPC may well take on a much larger role being responsible for the general running of the Church covering all aspects and working with the LPA Priests.

The Council meets every four to six weeks following an agenda consisting of standard items and those that requires attention such as the New Church, One Mass Sunday, social, etc.

Each of the Parish organisations and Committees is supported by the PPC and at each meeting a member of one of these groups is invited to give a briefing on their work.

If you wish to know more about the PPC or feel you can bring some expertise to it, please contact Cyril Brown via the Presbytery or by email at ppcchair@waterlooville-catholic.org.uk
