Confirmation of Young People

The Parish confirmation programme for young people currently runs from after Easter until late June/early July each year, and is based on several group sessions along with two retreat days.

The right time for any person to receive confirmation  is clearly dependant on that individual and their own personal journey in faith. Our experience suggests that children are unlikely to be ready for confirmation before the age of about thirteen or fourteen (typically Year 8/9 in School).

Confirmation ceremonies normally cover candidates from several parishes in the Deanery (Emsworth & Havant, Horndean, Leigh Park, Hayling Island and Waterlooville Parishes) either in the Cathedral in Portsmouth or at one of the Parish Churches.

Individual programs for Confirmation are prepared for adults coming/returning to the Church. Please contact the presbytery for more details
